Special Classes
For rules that apply to the Special Classes listed below, see the General Info & Rules tab under the Ride Info tab in the top left-hand corner of the home page.
Note that all the Special Classes are run as separate classes on each day and are recorded on the Mastercard as separate classes. This means that, for example, in the Dragon's Days (see below), a combination can pass the first two individual classes (on Friday and Saturday) and fail the third (on Sunday), but still have the distance and trophy points attributed to them for the first two. However the combination must pass all three classes to be eligible for the Dragon's Days competition.
The British Horse Feeds Dragon’s Tail (Class 8): competitors must complete the 82km ER (The Little Dragon) on Saturday and the 42km CR Sunday. The result of The Little Dragon is not affected by the Dragon’s Tail.
The Hilton Herbs Golden Dragon (Class 10): competitors must complete the 82km CR on Saturday and the 42km CR on Sunday.
The Saddle Exchange Dragon’s Days (Class 1): competitors must complete a 42km CR on Friday, a 48km CR on Saturday and a 42km on Sunday, making a total distance of over 132km.
The Wolfgar Dragon’s Egg (Class 12): competitors must complete a 42km CR on Saturday and a 42km CR on Sunday, making a total distance of 64km.
The Performance Equestrian Red Dragon Teams: Teams of four regardless of class. Declaration of teams must be submitted to the Ride Office by 09.00 on the Saturday of the event.
